Artist Cassie McGuire will lead the first 3 sessions, looking at insect environments, particularly bee habitats. We’ll be making bee hotels and bug houses. There will be an opportunity to learn sketching techniques - drawing bees in a variety of media. Attendees will also learn more about the plans for the Common Ground micro-farm and wider project.

Calling all artists and creatives. Want to know about applying for funding from Arts Council England but don’t know where to start? Need a jump start to get you going? We are hosting an advice session with Arts Council England at The Auxiliary Project Space.

Over July we invite artists at all stages to display one artwork or set of artworks. There is no selection process, and we will support up to 72 artists to exhibit their work on a first-come first-serve basis through the Eventbrite page which will go live on Saturday 24th at 10am. The link will be available across our socials so be sure to check back on the 24th.
7XSEVEN
7XSEVEN is a series of one night exhibition openings happening across a jam-packed week in late June, early July here at The Auxiliary. With summer in full swing, we’ve built a lovely garden gallery pod that will host artists working in different mediums, with painting, photography, sculpture and print on show. So feel free to come by, grab a drink, some food, sit by the firepit and enjoy the sun, between 5-8pm each evening. Location, The Auxiliary, 31 Station Street, Middlesbrough, TS1 1SR.

TWO PLUS TWO MAKES FOUR
Two Plus Two Makes Four (curated by Broken Grey Wires) creates a space for audiences to catch their breath and explore the mental health crisis through an ambitious and challenging project.
The exhibition features work from leading artists, including Bill Viola, Pipilotti Rist, Gillian Wearing and Martin Creed, and the late American, DIY artist Daniel Johnston. The show features work on paper, neon, photography, interactive installation, and video.
